IAPGA had its humble beginning in July 2014 when two professionals Amardip Malik and Gurbaaz Mann, top PGTI players, teed off with 10 enthusiastic amateur players in the beautiful Winding Hollow Golf Course of Columbus, Ohio. The first amateur player ever to tee off for IAPGA was Dr Karamjit Khanduja, a reputed surgeon of Columbus, OH.
In August, these young professional golfers after being in Correspondence with Jim Joseph of IAGL went on to join two other professional Golfers , Ajeetesh Sandhu and Mandeo Pathania at the beautiful Lake Sweet Water Golf Course of Houston, Texas. The experience was so good that IAPGA and the IAGL soon announced partnership and Mr Saji Samuel , the President of IAGL is now a permanent member of the advisory board of IAPGA.
From here on the 4 Asian professional golfers were warmly received by the IAGA , Indo American Golf Association to play at the Bayonet Golf Course at Seaside California. These professional players played a round of Pro-Am with the members of IAGA , organized a golf clinic and in the process met some of the golf enthusiasts at the San Francisco Bay area. The Event was a Huge success and some additions such as "beat the Pro" challenge made it even more worthwhile.
IAPGA ,2014 thus gave the platform to its four professional players to come to the US to interact with Indian communities across the three cities of Columbus, San Francisco and Houston, and in turn the Indian community witnessed the talent of our PGTI players for the first time.
A great beginning to a promising future.
